Your hamster is pretty much nocturnal so it may be difficult to ensure that he gets enough exercise to stay healthy and happy. He will have some alert periods throughout the day especially early in the morning and at dusk. Take advantage of these times for regular exercise and play sessions outside his enclosure. Let him explore your home and climb over and under objects. A hamster ball is great fun and can give your hamster plenty of exercise. Always supervise your hamster when he is outside the enclosure so he doesn’t get lost or that nobody accidently kicks his ball or it doesn’t fall down any stairs. Give your hamster lots of things to play with inside the enclosure too. He will enjoy climbing, running through tunnels or even running on a hamster wheel. But don’t crowd the enclosure so it becomes difficult to move around freely. Learn more from your best veterinary clinic Tampa, FL.

You may aware of the dangers of secondhand smoke to humans but it is especially dangerous to cats because of the greater amount of exposure. She could suffer from respiratory problems and even develop cancer. Your indoor cat spends her entire life inside so if smoking is allowed in your home, your cat breathes the contaminated air all day and all night. The toxins from the smoke will settle on the surfaces of your home so your cat will absorb them whenever she walks around or lies down on them. And your cat will also ingest the toxins from smoke whenever she grooms herself or a companion cat. Thus the best thing for your cat is to make your home a smoke-free one. If this is impossible, open the windows and air out your home often. Wash all surfaces often and thoroughly. Empty ashtrays promptly. Learn more from your Tampa, FL veterinary clinic.
