Whether it’s the cold weather or it’s due to your cat’s diet, it isn’t all that uncommon for felines to develop problems with dry skin. He’s how to tell.
The most obvious symptom is the dry skin itself. If your cat has dry skin, he’ll likely develop dandruff that you will easily be able to see on the top of his fur. You can try brushing it out, but the flakes will just return.
Some cats get quite itchy when they have dry skin. If you find your cat grooming himself more than usual, or if he bites and scratches when you pet him, his behavior could be due to dry skin.
If your cat has dry skin, try giving him a different kind of food. Most food that has lots of fillers can make your furry friend’s coat drier than usual.
