You have likely noticed how intently cats tend to watch fish swim around in a tank.

Make sure that the tank is not within reach of your cat, or else your cat may actually get curious enough that it may try to go in the top of the tank to get at these fish.

A cat is drawn like a magnet to fish because most, if not all cats are drawn to small, fast-moving objects, much like a bull is magnetized to the color red.

This is an example of how “curiosity killed the cat”, as a cat’s curiosity can often get them into very troubling situations.

Make sure that there are no flat surfaces for your cat to ascend to the top of the fish tank, or that there are no surfaces the cat can jump from onto the tank.
