Your Dog May Be Friendly By Nature, but When It Comes To Strangers Your Dog May Turn

There have likely been times where a dog has barked at someone walking down the street…from your house. Dogs bark at strangers not just to alert them to the dog’s presence, but to also warn the stranger not to cross onto their “territory”.

One way to help reduce this barking in your dog is, when your dog barks near you when a stranger walks by, acknowledge it calmly. If the dog persists in barking, then you become firm, but not shouting, to tell the dog not to bark. If he persists still, you would remove him from the room altogether. With this time, your dog can eventually cease or lower its barks to a minimum.

Visit here for more information at the veterinarian Cumberland County. Your dog can be trained to not bark at strangers, but it just takes time.
