Removing Stains from Your American Chinchilla Rabbit’s Coat

There’s nothing like prepping for a rabbit show only to find out an hour before your turn to show that your American Chinchilla rabbit has a poop stain or food stain on his coat. Chances are the stain was there from the beginning but you didn’t see it or you didn’t realize it didn’t wash away in the bath. Now you need to remove the stain and here’s a few tips on how you can do that. To remove stains from your rabbit’s coat, try using peroxide or white alcohol first. This particular method is most effective with food stains. If you’re not at a show, try using a waterless rabbit shampoo with a whitener. Spray the stain and use a towel to massage the fur. Towel dry and then re-brush when dry. You should repeat the process daily for the next few days.
