Cat's peripheral vision

Every animal is going to have its own unique way of seeing the world and your cat is no exception. While humans may have an advantage over cats in certain areas, like viewing vibrant colors, seeing into the distance, and picking out small details, there are also ways in which your cats vision trumps your own. Cats are born hunters, so their eyes have a great ability to follow fast moving objects. They can also see in darkness better than people can. One major way that cats have the advantage is when it comes to their peripheral vision. Your cat has a field of vision that is a full twenty degrees larger than yours, allowing them to take in much more at once. This is also to help them hunt, as they would often need to catch movement out of the corner of their eyes to find prey. Your local Woodland Hills Pet Clinic can offer additional information.
