10:35 PM What to Feed a Vomiting Dog |
Vomiting isn’t uncommon among canines, but it is a problem that needs to be addressed. Before you change up your dog’s diet, schedule an appointment with your veterinary clinic Vancouver, BC. Your veterinarian can tell you if there’s an underlying medical cause that needs to be treated. If your veterinarian doesn’t find anything medically wrong, try and withhold food from your pup for 24 hours after your dog’s last episode. This will allow his stomach to calm down before introducing more food. Then, reintroduce food to your dog with a bland diet. Ask your veterinarian for recommendations. Otherwise, you can create a bland diet on your own by mixing boiled hamburger or boiled chicken breast with cooked rice. Feed your dog the same amount of food as you normally would, but feed him three times a day. Start mixing in your dog’s regular diet a little bit at a time, as long as your pup’s upset tummy doesn’t return. Click here for more information. |
