5:42 PM Monitoring Your Rabbit’s Eating Habits |
If you
suspect that your rabbit isn’t eating enough hay or grass, examine its
droppings as they are very telling of what your rabbit has been eating. If the
droppings are small, dark and irregular in shape, this could be indicative of a
lack of fibre in your rabbit’s diet. To keep
your rabbit healthy, always keep its water bottle or water bowl filled. Its
water supply should be clear and free of any dirt, droppings or the like. Keep
it cool during the summer and ensure that it doesn’t freeze in the winter. As much as possible, add as much variety as you can to your rabbit’s leafy green supply. Cabbage, mint, parsley, kale and broccoli are all beneficial and enjoyed by rabbits. If your rabbit is having a type of green for the first time, be sure to feed it in a very small amount so it doesn’t get an upset stomach.
