5:23 AM Keeping Your Dog's Water Cool in the Summer |
The temperatures can get pretty warm in the summer. Your dog is shielded from some of the heat with his insulated coat, but because he can’t really sweat, he can still be affected by the summer sun. One way to help keep your dog cool is to provide him with plenty of cold water. It all starts with replacing your dog’s water often. You should already be washing the bowl and replacing the water at least once a day. On particularly hot days, you may want to replace the water a few times a day. If your dog is outside, keep his bowl out of the sun. It’ll stay cooler for longer in the shade. You can also place a few ice cubes or a frozen water bottle in the bowl to keep the water cold.
