Many dogs enjoy a game of hide and seek. The game tests your pet’s obedience skills and provides lots of physical, mental, and olfactory stimulation.

‘Sit and Stay’ Command

Grab some of your dog’s favorite treats, and command him to ‘sit and stay’. Go into another room and call your dog. When he finds you, be quick to offer him a treat or two and lots of praise.

‘Find It’ Command

You can also teach your dog the ‘find-it’ command so you can hide some of his favorite toys or food treats and let him find them. Start by showing your dog the object you are about to hide. Tell him to ‘sit and stay’ and hide the toy or treat. You can then tell your pet to find it.

You may need to help him by giving verbal cues so he can find the object for the first few tries. Make sure to give him lavish praise and more treats so he will know what you want him to do.
