12:19 PM Keep Your Dog off of the Sidewalks in the Summer |
Walking your dog is important, no matter which breed you have. Unfortunately, the sidewalks can be brutal on your dog’s feet in the summer. The heat in the summer can make the sidewalks extremely hot, which can be very damaging to your furry friend’s feet. If the sidewalk is hot enough, it can actually burn and blister the pads of his feet. Instead of walking your dog on the sidewalk, walk your dog in natural areas instead. If you’re walking in the city, let your dog walk in the grass. Natural materials are much cooler than concrete. You can also choose to walk your dog in the early morning hours or in the evening, when the concrete has had a chance to cool off. Booties are also available to protect your pup’s feet, but you might have to train him first. Your vet Carenco, LA can provide you with more information. |
