While not all budgies enjoy bathing, you will find that many of them thoroughly enjoy the process. That said, here’s how to set up a bird bath for your budgie:

1. Choose a spot in the cage. Go with an area that is a good distance from the food and water dish so that they will not get splashed on once the birds decide to bathe.

2. Select the right size bowl or container. It should not be so deep that there is a possibility of the budgie drowning in it. However it shouldn’t be so light either that it will tip over if your budgie gets inside of it. If your budgie hesitates to get in, try putting in a treat in it to lure it over such as a fruit, vegetable or millet spray.
