Hamsters don’t naturally seek human contact. Without the proper socialization, they are likely to become aggressive. To ensure that your hamster is friendly to humans, you’ll have to take him out of his cage and handle him at least once a day.

Spending at least 15 minutes with your hamster every day is a good starting point, but more time is better. It is especially helpful if you can remove your hamster from his cage multiple times a day. Just try not to take him out of his cage while it’s still light outside. Hamsters are nocturnal, which means your pet may become cranky if you try and handle him while he’s trying to sleep.
