3:02 PM Clipping Your Rabbit's Nails |
Although you may not have to clip your rabbit’s nails as often as you clip your dog’s nails, they still need a little TLC every now and then. If your rabbit’s nails are getting a little long, invite a friend or a family member over to help. One of you should wrap the bunny in a towel, exposing only one foot at a time. The other person will be in charge of clipping the nails. Gently press down on the pad of your rabbit’s foot to expose the nails. Look carefully for the quick. Clip just short of this pink area. If you do accidentally clip the quick, make sure that you have some styptic powder ready. When you’re done with one foot, rewrap your bunny and expose the next foot until all of your rabbit’s nails have been trimmed. If you need professional assistance, schedule an appointment with your veterinarian Lafayette, LA. |
