Your Dog’s Whiskers are not just There for Show, the Have a Very Important Function.

You may notice that your dog does not really seem to use its whiskers for anything, so why are they even there?

The whiskers along your dog’s face tend to lay back and never really move, but they are there to serve an important function.

Dogs do not really use their whiskers in the same manner that cats do (cats use them for balance). A dog’s purpose of having whiskers is to have yet another “sensory” ability. Whiskers on a dog function as a means to sense things like air movement or its own body movement. When a dog “fans’ out its whiskers, it is trying to sense something using ALL of its sensory abilities.

If you want, you can go ahead and find out more about this by checking out the site for the veterinary clinic Henry County.
