Treating your Doberman Pinscher for a Minor Cut or Scrape

There are times when panic is necessary and times when panic is not. If your Doberman Pinscher gets a cut or scrape, do not panic until you know the extent of the injury. If it’s a deep cut then you should definitely call your vet right away or even take your dog to an emergency veterinary hospital. However, minor cuts and scrapes can often be treated at home with a simple first aid kit. The first thing you may want to do is clean the wound to determine how bad it is. Use a wash like Vetericyn or an iodine or chlorhexine wash to clean it. If it’s a small cut or scrape then apply a small amount of antibiotic cream and keep it covered if necessary. If the cut is bleeding and you’re not able to stop it, call your veterinary clinic Plano, TX for assistance.
