Applying Flea and Tick Ointment to Bichon Frise

Part of your Bichon Frise’s overall care includes making sure he is free of fleas and ticks. You can do this by having your Bichon on a monthly prevention program recommended by your vet. Monthly flea and tick treatment can come in pills or ointments. If you have an ointment, make sure to read the directions and apply it correctly for the best treatment. You should start by opening the small tube of solution and placing the tip of the applicator between your Bichon Frise’s shoulder blades and under the fur. You want to make direct contact with the skin. Squeeze the tube and apply it down your dog’s back. Do not rub the solution in. Allow it to soak in. It is recommended to apply flea and tick topical treatments every month. Call your vet Pikeville, KY if your dog has a reaction to the ointment.
