If you’re potty training your puppy or your adult dog simply had an accident, getting urine out of carpet can be a nightmare. Here are some tips on how best to remove urine from your carpet.

Finding the exact spot is extremely important. If the urine has had a chance to dry, it may be difficult to find. Use a black light at night and the spot will glow.

If the spot is still wet, soak up as much as you can with a towel. Once you have removed as much as you can, soak the spot with plain water and repeat the process. Wet vacs can also be extremely useful in this situation.

When you’ve blotted up the mess, spray the area with an enzymatic pet odor neutralizer. Regular carpet cleaners will not remove the enzyme in dog urine that causes it to smell.
