Unfortunately, dachshunds are prone to pelvis issues. Whether he has completely broken or only fractured his pelvis, he will require some special care after surgery.

Make sure you have a safe spot for your pup to relax. This could be a kennel, but it could also be a pet bed on your living room floor. Make sure you line the bottom of the kennel or bed as it’s likely that your pup will have some accidents during his first few days of recovery.

Provide easy access to food and water by placing them near your dog’s resting place. Keep a close eye on him to make sure that he’s eating and drinking regularly.
