Cats need regular physical and mental stimulation even if they have the evolutionary advantage of having a high metabolic rate, although they live sedentary lifestyles. Cats can also suffer from obesity, particularly when you combine excessive caloric intake and inadequate physical activity.

Regular exercise can keep a cat’s muscles well-toned and strong. The activity is also a good way for mental stimulation. Taking time to exercise with your pet can also be a fun way to bond with each other.

A daily 10-15 minute physical activity will be adequate to satisfy your pet’s fitness needs.  Young cats can easily to distract themselves with toys and may find ways to include you in their games.

Children are in a constant state of learning, utilizing all of their five senses. A child will touch, taste, pull, push, punch, pinch and a whole other slew of tongue-twisting actions will be inflicted upon your poor dog to learn what they are like and how it reacts to each action.

Unfortunately, a dog to a child has many points of interest. Ears to be pulled, eyes to be poked, a nose to punch and pull on, a tongue to grab and legs/tails to be walked on and pushed and pulled.

A good-natured dog will try to get away from an inquisitive child, but some dogs will simply just bit to deter the offender.

In any case, children should be taught posthaste to gently pet a dog, and they should be supervised the entire time.

The crazy moments of cats...is there anything more amusing? When cats are bored, they seek out a way to “entertain” themselves (and quite possibly you as well).

Some cats try to imitate the behaviours of their owner. Cats will run back and forth on piano keys because of the interesting noises they make. They may even pretend to watch television or dig through kitchen cupboards as if to “look” for something.

Other cats are more mischievous and are prone to “getting into things” that they would normally not be interested in. A pile of yarn or thread, toilet paper, and the unravelling of it, licking at a drippy faucet, or other things of this nature are very interesting to your cat when it is bored.
