If you are standing in close proximity to a dog, whether it is yours or not, watch its body language. If the dog seems relaxed, and it is happily approaching you, then this dog is of a friendly nature.

If the dog has its back up, it’s growling, and/or it is backing away from you…then this dog is angry and it is possible it may want to attack you.

It always does well to watch a dog’s body language when you’re near it. This way, you can know whether to engage the dog or to avoid it altogether.

There are a range of things a dog can become angered by. Dogs have the uncanny ability to be able to sense people’s intentions/emotions by, as you may have guessed, our body language.

Water is a basic nutrient not only for people but also in animals. Your canine buddy should have access to fresh clean water every day. As a rule of thumb, a dog consumes approximately an ounce of water per pound of body weight per day.

Even with fresh water available, your pet’s water intake can be influenced by several important factors that include environmental temperature and activities that your dog may engage in during the day. Hot weather and excessive physical activity can result in loss of water from the body due to increased salivation and panting, prompting your dog to increase his water intake.

The type of pet food your pet consumes can also influence his daily water consumption. A pet on canned food may drink less because wet dog food contains 70-80% moisture.

People rarely think about having a fox as an exotic pet, but on the other hand, people find foxes intriguing and they are eye-appealing.

Foxes, especially the Fennec Fox, is more difficult to train than a dog, cat, or pocket pet, but they are canines and very active, instinctual predators. If you had to compare the behaviour of a fox, it would be comparable to a cat’s demeanor and independence level.

Foxes are very playful and quite noisy if domesticated and if not, they need to be taught to trust, play, and relax.

Non-domesticated foxes have a fouler odor (like the red fox or the white Arctic fox) and are less expensive to purchase.

Find out more about these foxes by going to this site of the veterinarian North West London.

North. True north. This is what your dog is looking for when it turns around in a circle repeatedly before laying down to sleep. Dogs have a very neat built-in compass, and it is right on the mark every single time, dead-on accurate.

People are known to copy animal behaviour when they believe it is a benefit to our health and true north for a dog is no different.

People are convinced (through extensive studies) that a person who sleeps every day with their heads facing true north sleep much better on a consistent basis.

Next time you see a dog turning around three times before laying down…you will imagine their invisible compass righting itself as well.
