Being fastidious groomers, cats spend a considerable part of their day grooming and cleaning themselves. However, it is a good idea to be involved in your cat’s grooming regimen since it will help strengthen the bond between you and your feline pet while giving you the opportunity to check your kitty for any signs of infection or general ill health.

Your feline friend will truly benefit from a regular grooming regimen because of the following reasons:

  • Promote circulation and develop muscle tone.
  • It reduces hairball formation in the stomach, since all the loose hairs are eliminated as you groom.
  • The glands at the base of the hair are stimulated. The sebum secreted from the glands is spread during grooming and help make the cat’s coat water-resistant.

Ferrets are usually taken in by people because they think that ferrets look excessively cute. However, do not be fooled into the delusion that ferrets are innocent.

The ferret is a very smelly animal, which is due to its musk odor, and it also has a very nasty temper. Often, the slightest thing can set a ferret off, and even in the most innocent of moments, a ferret can turn on its owner, biting them in a very nasty manner.

It is this that often leads to ferrets being “dumped” or “gotten rid of” by their owners.

Not to say that ferrets are complete and pure evil. Only those that have innate knowledge of ferrets can handle them properly so as to not get bitten by them.

You are gazing over a fresh litter of kittens and you have been awarded first pick.

There are males and females, but you are trying to weigh out the pros and cons to each gender.

Most importantly, your considerations should lean in the direction of your lifestyle and how involved will you be with decisions later down the road as the kitten matures. Is the kitten an indoor or outdoor pet?

If you get a male, you will need to consider shots, declawing, neutering, and you will need to consider its level of aggression or its territorialism. If it’s a female, it’s shots, fixing, and declawing.

If you only take the kitten for shots and you’re planning on leaving the rest to nature, then consider what you will experience when each gender goes through when it goes into heat for the first time.
