Cats are naturally very verbal. They wish to express themselves and sometimes it is a plea for your attention.

Most cats are very affectionate, but it is only when convenient for them.

Scooping up your cat and trying to cuddle may not be good timing if your cat is otherwise occupied. You may have noticed that your cat seems to want your attention the most when you are busy doing something. It will meow repeatedly at you, rubbing against your legs and looking for attention, but unfortunately, your hands are mired in soapy bubbles from doing dishes.

Is it a good idea to put your cat off and not show it attention when it comes to you?

Probably not. The bonding process between you and your cat is the strongest when your cat comes to you. Stopping what you are doing and spending fifteen minutes with your cat when it approaches you will increase your bond with it.

People are under the impression that cats and dogs are natural enemies, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Cats and dogs can actually live together in harmony within the same home, especially if introductions are made with care and consideration.

The ideal situation would be to get your cat as a kitten, and your dog as a puppy, so they can grow up together, but this is rarely the case.

Usually people who have a dog or cat first would bring in the other later. Whether you have the cat first or the dog first, bringing a new addition to the family home requires introductions to be made slowly.

You are not alone! Many cat owners will actually put time aside during their busy days to be able to enjoy the chaos that is sure to follow upon putting some catnip down for your cat.

Is catnip a drug? No, catnip does not have any chemicals in it that will get your cat high or stoned or anything like that, but it sure looks that way when your cat is enjoying it.

Right from being a kitten, your cat has learned how to perfect its righting reflex.

This is the skill executed when a cat lands on its paws with injury after a long or high jump.

From an early age, a cat will practice this skill derived from its instincts. Once a cat is a bit older, it knows its limitations.

The righting reflex can be seen by picking your cat up by all four legs and letting go. Your cat instantly will be able to flip around and land on its paws.

Cats are able to perform this movement because of their flexible spine and “floating” collarbone, making the cat super flexible (more so than other animals).

This is not to say that your cat cannot sustain injuries, but they seem to be more resilient.

Royal Pythons are originally found in Central and Western Africa. They live in forests and are equally at ease on the ground or up in trees. These Pythons are nocturnal creatures, active during dusk and dawn, while hiding away during the day.

Royal Pythons are one of the easiest snake species to own, that is, if you are able to meet their basic needs.  Although this snake species do grow big, they have a preference for a smaller enclosure. An enclosure that is too large can cause stress to your pet python.

Vivariums, plastic containers, and glass tanks can be used as housing for pythons.

A 20”x10” plastic container can comfortably house young Pythons while fully-grown adults can be placed in a 36”x15” vivarium.

While still young, the best substrates to use in your python&rs ... Read more »
